Designing and Implementing an Emergency Savings Program

A toolkit for higher education practitioners 

The Student Money Management Office developed a toolkit to help guide our higher education colleagues in implementing an emergency savings program. The toolkit is based off our experience piloting and then expanding the Rainy Day Savings Program, an emergency savings program that we implemented at Austin Community College in 2018.

We are happy to provide guidance to any higher education institution interested in exploring the idea of implementing programming to prepare students for the inevitable financial emergency that might will happen at some point during their academic journey.
