Voters Approve All of Austin Election

On Saturday voters approved a proposition to annex portions of the city of Austin that were not included in the Austin Community College District. The areas annexed include portions of Pflugerville, Round Rock and Eanes Independent School Districts that are located within the Austin city limits. ACC Board of Trustees Chair Dr. Barbara Mink and Interim President Dr. Steve Kinslow released the following statements regarding the successful election:

“No aspect of ACC’s mission is more important than providing affordable access to quality higher education,” said Dr. Barbara Mink, chair of the ACC Board of Trustees. “Voters substantially lowered the cost of college for thousands of students now, and in the future. Speaking on behalf of the board, we are thankful for the support and excited about the future of ACC.”

“ACC is grateful that voters recognize a strong community college benefits all of Austin,” said Dr. Steve Kinslow, ACC interim president. “As Austin grows, more people are choosing to start their education at ACC, and the annexation will help us provide more services and quality programs to students, industry and the community.”
