Web Pages, Video Games and Music, Oh My!!

Middle school students building web pages; teenagers developing video games; and high school students producing their own pop song. All are career insights Austin Community College will provide area youth this summer through the following day camps:

Webmaster Program for Kids: Students learn how to build simple web pages with professional looking images and publish them on the Web. Eligible students must be familiar with the keyboard and mouse and must be able to type. Two- and three-day camps start June 21; registration ends May 27. GameCamp: GameCamp! is a college preparatory summer camp for students interested in a career in video game development. Students at GameCamp! participate in actual game design and development planning projects. The curricula are taught by experienced game industry designers, artists, programmers, and developers. Music and Recording Workshop: The ACC Commercial Music Management Summer Workshop is open to all high school sophomores, juniors and seniors who are curious about music and sound production. Students participate in a hands-on workshop that teaches the basics of how a “pop” song is conceived and brought to market. Students also learn how typical TV and radio commercials are produced.
