Manor Education Foundation Says Yes To Young

Manor, Texas, Feb. 22, 2006 – Linda Young, special assistant to the president for Governmental and Community Relations at ACC, has been named president of the Manor Education Foundation board of directors. A board member for the past year, she replaces outgoing president Benny Hawkins.

“It’s my sincere honor to represent ACC as president of the board,” she said. “Through incredible support from businesses and the community at large, the foundation has already helped hundreds of young people in the Manor ISD realize their potential. The potential of this organization has only begun to be realized, however. I relish the opportunity to expand our partnerships and broaden our reach.”

Founded in 1999, the Manor Education Foundation’s mission is to go to exceptional lengths to generate a variety of resources to meet the extraordinary needs of the Manor Independent School District community. Its goals are to e nable business, organizations, and individuals to positively impact the education process in the Manor ISD community; assist educators to improve the quality of education through innovative projects and leading-edge information; and provide funding for projects that will increase student capacity for learning and retention of knowledge.
