ACC Adjunct Professor Heading to Italy on Fulbright Scholarship

Austin, Texas, April 17, 2006 — Beverly “Bee” English, assistant professor of history at Austin Community College, will spend two months in Italy this summer studying Roman history, Latin literature, classical art and archaeology. She is one of six nationwide to receive the honor.

“This is a wonderful opportunity to learn from the best and bring that knowledge back to share with my students,” she said.

Bee has taught for 12 years, most recently teaching advanced Latin at Lake Travis High School. Her studies abroad will take place at the American Academy at Rome and earn her six hours of credit toward a doctorate in Latin literature from the University of Florida – Gainesville.
