Austin – Hoping to spur some high school seniors into attending college after they graduate, The Star of Texas Fair & Rodeo has given $25,000 to the ACC Foundation for 21 scholarships for the upcoming academic year.

One $5,000 Grand Champion Scholarship will be awarded and 20 $1,000 scholarships will be awarded for incoming freshman at ACC. The priority deadline is June 1, 2002. Seniors must meet the following criteria:

High school graduate (Scholarship must be used within 9 months of graduation)

Have between a 80-89.9 or “B” grade average in high school and be in the top 35% of high school graduating class

Show leadership qualities

Enroll in and successfully complete a minimum of 6-9 hours (depending on scholarship awarded)

Demonstrate financial need

Complete ACC’s general scholarship application

No restrictions in field of study
