Background:

The Bob Lain Historical Symposium features Austin Community College, University of Texas at Austin and Texas A&M University professors who will discuss how U.S. diplomacy shapes the modern world and the effects of September 11, 2001 on U.S. foreign policy. The policies of Theodore Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson will be explored, as well as U.S. counterinsurgency tactics during the Cold War. ACC professor of history, Suzanne Summers, will talk about the human impact of September 11, 2001.

The symposium is free and open to the public.
