What: Austin Community College is holding an open house to formally announce the creation of the new Video Game Development Program. The event will provide information on the courses, offer a slide show and an opportunity to speak with industry professionals.

Background: Realizing the need for skilled video game developers in Austin, Bob McGoldrick, ACC Technical Certification Programs Coordinator, teamed up with industry professionals. Together they developed an academic program in video game development. The program is considered the first comprehensive gaming curriculum in Austin.

ACC’s Video Game Development Program offers a certification with a specialization in Programming, Art, Design, or Production. Rated the 3rd largest city for video game development in the United States, Austin is in need of experienced game developers. Graduates of ACC’s Video Game Development Program will be better prepared to enter this multi-billion dollar industry.
