Faculty Advisors Now Available for Summer Session

Beginning this week, full-time faculty members are available to advise students for the summer 2006 registration. Many of the workforce faculty members have advised students through their degree programs, and now the College is expanding the availability of faculty advising to all Associate degree and Certificate programs. Students are encouraged to meet with faculty advisors; students who meet regularly with faculty advisors to discuss their academic and career plans are often more successful in reaching their goals.

Faculty members are available to meet with students who meet of the following criteria:

(1) students who have declared a major in an academic discipline or workforce program,
(2) students who are Texas Success Initiative (TSI) complete,
(3) students who are not on Academic Warning, Suspension or Probation.

Student Services advisors and counselors will continue to advise all other students not meeting all of the above criteria.

To schedule an advising session with a full-time faculty member in their degree (major) area, students should contact the academic department (e.g., Sociology or Nursing) or an Advising Center on one of the ACC campuses for referral information. Faculty members’ office hours are also listed on the ACC Web site at .
