Student Filmmakers Show Off Their Talent at Screening

Austin, TX – May 8, 2006 – The Austin Film Society has chosen eight short films, four from Austin Community College’s Radio-Television-Film (RTF) Department and four from AFS’ After-School High School Program, for a special end-of-the-year private screening Wednesday, May 10.

Each student will be awarded certificates of achievement for their video projects. One Austin high school student will be awarded a scholarship toward continuing their education at ACC’s RTF Department. High school students will have the opportunity to learn more about ACC’s RTF program, and ACC students will be encouraged to form mentorship/crew relationships with AFS up-and-comers. After the screening, student creators will have the opportunity to network with fellow filmmakers about their experience and discuss techniques used in their projects.
