English adjunct instructor David Latimer was recently named as a finalist in the Third Annual Vonnegut Fiction Prize competition, sponsored by the University of Northern Iowa’s venerable North American Review.

Set in small-town Texas, “Bones” tells the story of an old man and the mysterious visitor who helps him bury his troubled past. The short story received an Honorable Mention, one of just seven finalists out of 212 entrants.
