The Austin Community College District family of students, faculty, staff, and governing board are saddened by the loss of former student Jacob H. Neal, 23, a Marine corporal who died January 19 in Anbar province. He was assigned to the Marine Forces Reserves 1st Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division out of Grand Rapids, Mich.
Originally from Crockett, Texas, Neal most recently made his home in San Marcos.
Funeral services will take place Monday, January 29, at 2 p.m. at the Crockett Civic Center, 1100 Edmiston Drive, Crockett, Texas. Interment, with full military honors, will be held at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday, January 30, at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio.
