Austin, TX – June 6, 2007 – On Monday the Austin Community College District (ACC) Board of Trustees re-elected Trustee John Hernandez as board chair and Trustee Nan McRaven as vice chair. Trustees also selected Dr. James W. McGuffee as the new board secretary.

Hernandez, who has served on the board since 2002, is an Austin real estate broker and active in many local organizations such as the Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Austin, and the YMCA.

McRaven was also elected to the board in 2002. She is currently Texas State Director of The Trust for Public Land and has taught at ACC and at the University of Texas.

McGuffee, an associate professor of computer science at St. Edward’s University, replaces Trustee Veronica Rivera, who served one term as board secretary.
