The Austin Community College Foundation has awarded Kristy Clagett, an emergency medical services student, an endowed scholarship created in memory of Eric Hanson.

Hanson, a Marble Falls paramedic and ACC graduate, was killed last October when a truck collided with his ambulance. His mother, Rita Hanson, says he would be proud of this moment.

“While preparing to be a paramedic at ACC, Eric observed several students struggling financially,” she said. “The scholarship endowment program is something he would have approved, and we hope to see it grow each year. We are extremely grateful for all who have contributed.”

The ACC Foundation’s mission is to raise funds to ensure student success and develop community support for the college. Scholarships such as this one assist the Foundation in offering students expanded access to higher education and training.
