September 10, 2007 – On Monday, the Austin Community College District Board of Trustees set the FY2008 tax rate at $.0958 ($.0900 for maintenance & operations and $.0058 for debt service). This rate is down 0.7 percent from last year’s adopted tax rate of $.0965.

The adopted rate will increase taxes set aside for maintenance and operations. Due to higher home appraisals, the average taxpayer with a home valued at $100,000 will experience approximately an $8.50 increase in taxes.
