Hispanic Students to Network with College Faculty, Administrators

Austin, TX – September 26, 2007 – Current and prospective Hispanic students are invited to attend Austin Community College’s Avenidas de Información: Avenues of Information on Wednesday, October 3, 2007, at 5 p.m. in Room 8500 of the Eastview Campus, 3401 Webberville Rd.

The event will provide students with direct access to the people and resources they need to be successful at ACC.

“Because many Hispanic students are the first in their family to attend college, they are often unaware of services available to help them succeed,” said Dr. Richard Armenta, associate vice president of student success. “This reception will connect students to people who can answer their questions on programs, financial aid, advising, and a host of other services at the college.”

Students who attend the reception will have an opportunity to win free textbooks, gift cards and movie tickets. Food and refreshments will be provided. The Hispanic Student and Staff Success Committee is hosting the event.
