No joke: ‘Funnyhouse’ Wins Again

Austin Community College’s Drama Department was recently honored by the Austin American Statesman and the Austin Chronicle for last year’s production of “Funnyhouse of a Negro.” The Statesman named the play on its “best of” list, while it earned honorable mention at the Chronicle.

The play was also previously nominated for five Austin Critics Table Awards, with Marcus McQuirter winning best director and Feliz Dia McDonald taking home the award for best performance by a student.

The drama department also has several events scheduled for the spring semester, including a performance of “Betty’s Summer Vacation;” author Olga Samples Davis; faculty and staff readings; and much more.
