Commencement is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, May 8, in the Austin Convention Center, 500 E. Cesar Chavez St.

Summer and fall 2007 graduates and spring 2008 candidates are invited to participate in the annual ceremony. Tomi Welch, of the Graduation Office, said the total number of eligible participants this year is just over 1,800. She estimates between 350 and 400 students will attend the ceremony.

No tickets are needed for families and guests to attend the ceremony.
Approximately 400 faculty members and administrators will join an estimated 2,600 guests in the Convention Center ballroom to celebrate the students’ achievements. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis; accommodations for those needing special assistance are available.
