ACC hosts panel discussion on identity and politics

Austin Community College continues its discussion on identity this Thursday, October 23, in the Multipurpose Room 8500 of the Eastview Campus, 3401 Webberville Road.

A panel of experts will focus on ways in which political identity is formed and how race, gender, religion, and socioeconomics inform individuals’ political views. The discussion begins at 7 p.m. and is free and open to the public.

“It will be very interesting to hear the different viewpoints that our students have on this topic so close to the election,” says Roy Casagranda, government associate professor and co-leader on the panel. “It’s great that we continue to provide platforms for students to talk about issues that affect them.”

The Ethics Resource Center is sponsoring the discussion. It is part of a yearlong look at the theme “Identity” by the Arts and Humanities Division.
