ACC hosts a birthday celebration 35 years in the making
Saturday, March 28 | 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. | Eastview Campus

What do you get when you mix the best of ACC with a little East Austin flavor and a live music festival? You get All Access ACC, an education celebration and birthday bash.  This year All Access joins Hip Hop into College for ACC’s biggest open house in 35 years on Saturday, March 28 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Eastview Campus, 3401 Webberville Road. Admission is free!

It’s no secret—ACC is about providing access to higher education and career training, helping people follow their dreams.  Since ACC’s first year in 1973-74, the college has grown to become the primary gateway to higher education in Central Texas, the primary source of transfer students to area four-year universities, and the primary trainer and re-trainer of the local workforce.  Now we celebrate!

All Access offers two stages with live entertainment, games for all ages, food, free classes, demonstrations, and lots of opportunities to explore cool careers in hot industries. From health professions, renewable energy, and graphic design to auto technology, filmmaking, and firefighting, there’s something for everyone. Check out some of the nearly 100 hands-on activities:

  • Custom & classic car show (Automotive Technology)
  • Health screenings (Health Sciences)
  • Surgical demonstrations (Health Sciences)
  • Firefighting demonstrations (Fire Academy)
  • Film screenings (Radio, TV, Film)
  • Pet CPR (Vet Tech)

Not to mention, workshops on financial aid, income taxes, drafting & design, math skills, the art of auctioneering, and more! The list goes on and on.

Take a trip back in time on the Main Stage to the era ACC was born with ’70s classics performed by special guests Skyrocket! , 2007 SXSW Austin Music Award winner for Best Cover Band.  The Hip Hop Stage features some of Austin’s finest wordsmiths, including Gnostic Prophet, Cipher, Public Offenders, and Guest DJ Brotha K.

ACC will light the birthday cake on the Main Stage at noon with special guest Bobby Bones from 96.7 KISS FM. The ceremony will include a proclamation from the City of Austin you don’t want to miss.

Don’t miss your opportunity to get involved. All Access volunteers are still needed. All Access ACC, an Education Celebration and ACC’s 35th Birthday Bash begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 28. The event goes on, rain or shine. For more information and a complete list of activities visit www.austincc.edu/allaccess.
