Día de la Familia festival celebrates family and education

The Austin Community College District invites families to attend the third annual Día de la Familia 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 25, at the Riverside Campus, 1020 Grove Blvd.

The bilingual, bicultural festival celebrates the community and family while providing important information about college. The event is free and open to the public.

Los Texas Wranglers will perform live Tejano music, and visitors enjoy refreshments and a host of fun-filled activities. ACC representatives will be available to discuss college and career programs and services.

“We want to get the message out to parents and students that ACC is a full-service organization that can help them with their future,” says Dr. Mariano Díaz-Miranda, director of the ACC Latino/Latin American Studies Center (“El Centro”) which hosts the event.

“It’s going to be a wonderful celebration, and we encourage everyone to join us for the festivities,” Díaz-Miranda says.
