Public invited to Hispanic Futures Conference on Saturday, April 11

The public is invited to the Hispanic Futures Conference 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 18, at Austin Community College’s Riverside Campus, 1020 Grove Blvd.

The theme is “College, Technology and the Workforce of the 21st Century,” and the conference covers such topics as “A Young Men’s Journey to Leadership,” “R U Ready for College,” “Math and Science Brain Builders,” and “Hispanics in Central Texas: Opportunities and Dreams.”

The keynote speaker is Dr. Mariano Diaz-Miranda, ACC chair of the Mexican American Chicano Studies Program and director of the Latino/Latin American Studies Center.

The Austin Independent School District is sponsoring the event. Admission is free; lunch, music and door prizes are provided. Transportation is also available.
