ACC hosts Mayoral Election debate at City Hall

Austin Community College will host a debate among Austin mayoral candidates 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 1, at City Hall, 301 W. Second St.

This is one of the last debates before the May 9 election day, notes Peck Young, director of the ACC Center for Public Policy and Political Studies, which is sponsoring the event.

Candidates will address economic, environmental, and educational issues affecting the city’s constituents. KXAN-TV reporter Matt Flener will serve as debate moderator. The event is free and open to the public.

“This debate is giving Austin’s citizens a chance to get to know the candidates and their plans for the city’s future,” Young says. “We are proud to host such an important event for the city of Austin.”
