Round Rock Campus Construction Progress, April 30, 2009

The site development permit was approved by the City of Round Rock on April 30, 2009. A pre-construction conference with the city has been set up for Tuesday, May 05, 2009 at the Public Works Dept. After the conference is held, several new sub-contractors will move on-site to begin site improvement work, including the trenching and installation of all underground utilities, which include the chilled water piping, electrical conduits, IT cabling, storm water drain piping, domestic water service, and irrigation piping. The work will be ongoing for the next several weeks.

Building 1000

Bldg 1000 Looking At First Floor Over Crawl Space

Building 1000 – Work on the crawl space is complete. The mud slabs have been poured, and the piers have been poured to the first-floor slab level. The first floor is being formed and rebar is being placed in the beams and deck. The first of two concrete pours will occur this week.

Building 2000 – The crawl space has been excavated, and all the piers have been drilled and poured with concrete. Foundation work has stopped pending the completion of Building 1000 and 3000 superstructures.

Building 3000 – Work on the crawl space is complete. The mud slabs have been poured and the piers have been poured to the first-floor slab level. The first floor has been formed, and rebar was placed in the beams and deck. The first major concrete pour was performed Thursday, April 30, 2009. Two-thirds of the first floor slab was completed. The remaining one-third is being poured this week. First-floor columns will be formed at the end of the week.

Building 5000 – The building foundation excavation has filled with select fill lifts, and the final elevation for the slab has been reached. Piers will be drilled through the new foundation this coming week and completed by early next week.

Building 9000 – The building foundation is complete. All piers have been drilled and poured with concrete. The perimeter grade beams and slab on grade will be formed this week.

The excavation of the water detention basin on the southwest corner of the site is 80 percent complete.
