‘Pathway’ helps students learn English at ACC

Students can enroll at May 30 and June 30 events

Austin Community College is hosting “Pathway to English” registration days in May and June to help individuals enroll in English as a Second Language (ESOL) classes. Seating is limited, so reservations are recommended.

Upcoming:

  • May 30, 8 a.m.-noon: Cypress Creek Campus, 1555 Cypress Creek Rd., Cedar Park. Call 223.2020 for a reservation
  • June 27, 8 a.m.-noon: South Austin Campus 1820 W. Stassney Lane. Call 223.9162 for a reservation

“Pathway” is designed for people who wish to learn English. Participants will hear about ACC’s programs, undergo language assessments, meet with an advisor, and register for classes – all in one day.

FAFSA application assistance

ACC staff also will be on hand to help individuals take the first step to obtaining financial aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA. Applicants will need to bring the following documents to complete the FAFSA:

  • Driver’s license number
  • 2008 W-2 forms and other records of income earned last year
  • Alien registration card, if applicable
  • Untaxed income records
  • Social Security number
  • Bank statements
  • High school transcript
  • Business, mortgage, and other records

“ACC is responding to many requests from community residents who want to learn English to assist them in their job or help their school age children” says Dr. Richard Armenta, associate vice president for student success.
