The Austin Community College District is now issuing 2009-2010 parking permits, valid until fall 2010. You may purchase a permit at your campus Cashier’s Office. Please note the new fee structure:
Category | Fee | |
Students | $15 | |
Hourly staff | $15 | |
Adjunct faculty | $20 | |
Classified staff | $30 | |
Prof/tech staff | $35 | |
Full-time faculty | $40 | |
Administrators | $50 | |

Motorcycle Parking: If an employee or student desires to purchase a motorcycle permit, the fee will be $15. The individual will park in designated spaces for motorcycles, or in the appropriate regular parking space (Faculty and Staff or Student). If an employee or student desires a car permit and a motorcycle permit, they will pay the regular permit price for their car permit, and an additional $15 for their motorcycle permit.
Please note, if you lose your parking permit, the full fee must be paid to replace it.
Employees may pay for their permit through payroll deduction. Click here for the form.

on the ACC payroll deducation form, do we print this out and bring it to the cashiers or should it be mailed to HR?

Are these going to last longer then a school year? I don’t get it? Everybody that drives a car or motorcycle it seems should pay the same. Why the change? Who benefits from the extra cash that’s going to be generated from these New Fees and what would ACC do with it?

well… if its going to cost more, than it should last longer and we should have more space and facilities…

I’m pretty sure these ones last longer (unless I heard wrong when I was paying for my classes).

They will NOT last longer. They are required. You can print the form out and take it with you or they have the forms you can fill out at the cashier’s office. It will pay for a lot of the services we are already receiving…police monitoring the lots, and garages being built, maintaining the lots we already have(painting/signage). Our parking is CHEAP! It was 75.00 for students at UT in 1993!

This is a 50% increase from the base price of 10 dollars. Consider a 50% increase on other commodities such as food, gas and other such items, we of course find this unreasonable, just as we consider this unreasonable as well. An increase of a dollar to a dollar fifty is more in line with standard practice. Get real.

Get over it, or just walk. You choose.

To answer the employee’s question, staff can turn in the payroll deduction form at the cashier’s office to purchase a parking permit. You will also need to show your ACC photo ID. Hope this helps!

Isn’t it funny how in America we will always have and find something to complain about? Enjoy life and don’t make big thing outta little thing.

These permits will last one acaedmic year (Fall-Summer) just like they have for as long as I can remember. It’s only a $5 increase for students, compared to what staff/faculty/admins have to pay it’s not so bad. I know ACC is not UT, but when I was in school there from 2002-2006 I paid $100/semester for a basic “C” parking permit. If you disagree with the fee increase and are truly unwilling to pay it, then do something about it and ride a bike or take the bus if those are viable options.
