ACC Hiring 100+ New Full-Time Faculty, Staff

The Austin Community College District is adding more than 100 new full-time faculty and staff positions to meet the demands of rising enrollment, including the fall 2010 opening of the ACC Round Rock Campus.

The full-time faculty positions are already posted on the ACC jobs website (austincc.edu/hr/apply). The college will begin internal hiring for staff jobs in January, with additional vacancies expected to be advertised throughout spring and summer, according to ACC Employment Manager Erica Breedlove.

“We encourage people to visit the website and see what’s available,” says Breedlove. “New positions range from cashiers and campus police to media technology specialists.”

ACC expects openings to occur across the college, not just in Round Rock, as current faculty and staff request to transfer to the new campus.

“This new hiring reflects ACC’s commitment to expanding our faculty and staff base as enrollment increases,” says Dr. Stephen B. Kinslow, ACC president/CEO. “We want to ensure all students have access to the same high-quality education and support services as ACC grows.”

ACC employs more than 3,100 people across its eight-county service area. The college enrolls more than 40,000 credit students each semester and educates an additional 13,000 individuals through non-credit, Continuing Education, and Adult Education programs.

In addition to the full-time faculty and staff positions, the college is also searching for adjunct faculty members for its high-demand technical workforce programs, such as auto repair, heating and air conditioning, and construction.
