IRS Reminds Providers to Receive W-2 Forms Before Submitting An Electronic Return
The IRS has issued a reminder that an â€œAuthorized IRS e-file Providerâ€ is prohibited from submitting an electronic return to the IRS prior to the receipt of all Forms W-2 (Wage and Tax Statement), W-2G (Certain Gambling Winnings), and 1099-R (Distributions From Pensions, Annuities, Retirement or Profit-Sharing Plans, IRAs, Insurance Contract, Etc.) from the taxpayer.
If the taxpayer is unable to secure and provide a correct Form W-2, W-2G, or 1099-R, the return may be electronically filed after Form 4852 (Substitute for Form W-2) is properly completed. This is the only time information from pay stubs or leave and earning statements (LES) is allowed.

2009 W-2 update
It is time once again for W-2â€™s. The 2009 W-2 Forms will be mailed to employeesâ€™ home addresses on or before January 30th. Employees will be able to review their W-2 Forms online as well.
