ACC Hosts Career and Resource Fair on Friday, February 26

The Austin Community College District will host its 15th annual Career and Resource Fair this Friday, February 26. The fair, co-sponsored by Workforce Solutions – Capital Area, is open to the public and will feature recruiters from some 30 local businesses and community resource agencies.

“This is an opportunity for job seekers to get face time with businesses from across the area and find out about support services that are available to them,” says Mechelle Marler, ACC Adult Education counselor.

The fair will include representatives from the City of Austin, H-E-B, FedEx Ground and Delivery, the Federal Bureau of Prisons, and many other employers.

“In today’s competitive job market, it is crucial to take advantage of each and every opportunity to connect with employers. Job fairs are a great way to do that,” says Alan Miller, executive director of Workforce Solutions – Capital Area Workforce Board. “We are pleased to support ACC’s Career and Resource Fair by recruiting employers and helping to facilitate the event.”

The fair will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at ACC’s Eastview Campus (3401 Webberville Rd., Building 8000’s Multipurpose Hall).

About 200 job seekers took part in the 2009 Career and Resource Fair.
