Community Car Show Set for April 3 at Riverside Campus

Want to check out some sweet rides – or do you have a set of wheels to show off? Plan to attend the first annual Austin Community Car Show on Saturday, April 3, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the ACC Riverside Campus, 1020 Grove Blvd.

Cars will compete for honors in a variety of categories including engines, interiors, exteriors, muscle cars, hot rods, and more. Cost is $30 to enter a car in competition. Click here to register your car for the event. Admission to the event is free.

The ACC Latino/Latin American Studies Center is sponsoring the car show. Proceeds will go to a scholarship fund for Del Valle High School students who will attend ACC.

“Making college more affordable and accessible to Del Valle High School students will benefit the entire Del Valle community and the greater Central Texas area,” says Dr. Mariano Díaz-Miranda, Latino/Latin American Studies Center director. “It also helps ACC do its part to close the achievement gap.”

Del Valle senior Luis Cabrera, an ACC Early College Start student, is assisting with the event after organizing a similar event for his high school last year, raising several thousand dollars.
