Imagine navigating your way through the foster care system with only a trash bag or pillowcase to use for lugging around all your belongings. That’s the reality for many Central Texas children in foster care. But you can help them transition to the next chapter of their lives by taking part in the ACC Luggage Drive.
You can donate as an individual or team up with others. The college hopes to provide a piece of new luggage to each of the 100 foster care students who will graduate from high schools in the region this spring. The deadline is May 1.
You can give new luggage (preferably carry-on, rolling duffels) or make a cash donation. The Assistance League of Austin is partnering with ACC to provide care packages to go along with the luggage for foster care alumni.
