Financial aid award letters are going electronic – and starting now, students must take online action to receive their grants and loans.
ACC Financial Aid will mail award offers for the last time this summer. Even though students will still receive a letter in the mail, they are required to sign on to their Online Services account to accept or reject the award.
Letters will no longer be mailed after November 1.
To receive funds, visit austincc.edu and log on to Online Services; look for the “Accept or Reject my Financial Aid Awards” link under the Financial Aid heading. You must choose to accept the aid in order to receive it. ACC Financial Aid advises recipients to do so as soon as possible and no later than the second week in August.
The move to electronic notification gives students immediate access to their financial aid awards. It also provides an opportunity to view financial aid documents to confirm what has been received and what’s missing.

I have applied at ACC and would like to know if I qualify for any grants…and how I would apply for them.

Hi Tim, you’ll find lots of great information on the financial aid website. Good luck and welcome to ACC!

I found the new acceptance online of financial aid award amounts to be cumbersome. I would click to accept, and it continued to come up saying that I was not authorized for this action, with a number. Then it finally did let me to the screen, with the check boxes, i checked for everything, and no individual boxes, it came up and told me that if I was going to choose everything, I couldn’t choose individual boxes as well. After that, I reloaded, and all my financial aid amounts has vanished. So I logged out again, and they were back, and they said that I had accepted them, finally, even though that time I had clicked nothing at all.
While it should be simple and easy, the entire process was quite frustrating, I assume because of bugs in the system. It also, when my award amounts temporarily disappeared, led to a moment of panic, because I thought they, at least from my online account, they had somehow been erased.
Programs like this can be wonderful and efficient, how, they can also be time consuming, frustrations if not working properly when they are put into place.
There is an old saying, something about the road to hell is paved with good intentions…

This is a new wonderful tool for our students. I will share it with everyone. I love how ACC is really picking up on our technology access! Kudos!

I was chosen for verification and it’s been 3 weeks since I submited all of my paper work. Do you know how much time it takes to be awarded financial aid, or if this will affect me and get denied financial aid.

It’s great to see that you guys are going green and creating a faster and more efficient way of going about the process. Cheers!
