THE HR CONNECTION

Benefits

ERS Annual Enrollment ends July 30, 2010!

The ERS Annual Enrollment period is July 5th – July 30th.  All changes must be made online at
www.ers.state.tx.us no later than Friday, July 30, 2010.  ERS will not allow any changes after that date
unless the employee experiences a qualifying life event (QLE) such as marriage, divorce, birth of a
dependent, etc.

To make changes you are required to register for an ERS OnLine account and create a new Username and Password.  To begin go to www.ers.state.tx.us and click the “View My Benefits” button at the top of the screen.  You do not need to do anything to change your benefits unless you are:

Making a change to your Insurance Benefits  Enrolling in TexFlex Reimbursement account for the first time.

For assistance: Contact Alisol V. Martinez at [email protected] or 512.223.7800 or Kelly Grant at [email protected] or 512.223.7230.

Bi-weekly Paychecks

Bi-weekly employees will be receiving a 3rd paycheck for the month of July on July 30, 2010.  There will be no optional deductions taken from the July 30th paycheck since the prior two checks have already had those optional deductions withheld.

These optional deductions will automatically restart in August 2010.  If you have any questions regarding your optional deductions, please feel free to call HR Benefits at 223-7617, 223-7230 or 223-7800 for further information.

Long Term Disability Insurance and Full-Time ACC Employees

Austin Community College District (ACC) provides long-term disability (LTD) insurance coverage to all
full-time employees through UNUM at no cost to employees.  This coverage is separate from the LTD
insurance offered by ERS, and therefore those employees see their LTD status as being “waived” in ERS OnLine.  Full-time employees who elect LTD coverage through ERS will have those premiums deducted from their paychecks and will not be covered by the UNUM policy that is offered to full-time employees at no cost.
