Employee Paycheck Update
Effective September 1st, 2010 employees will pick up their paychecks at the Cashier’s Office at their campus. Paychecks will no longer be distributed at your Campus Manager’s Office.

Mark your Calendars for Fall General Assembly
ACC’s Fall General Assembly is scheduled for Friday, August 20th at the Hyatt Regency Hotel located at 208 Barton Springs. Because this year’s theme is Western, Dr. Kinslow encourages everyone attending to don their favorite western wear.
In addition, we expect heavy turnout for this event; we strongly encourage carpooling!
A continental breakfast will be served from 8am-9am; the morning program will begin at 9am.
Professional Development workshops will be held in the afternoon at Highland Business Center, beginning at 1:30pm. Plan Year 2010 TexFlex Flexible Spending Accounts
Don’t forget you have until November 15, 2010 to spend your TexFlex money from plan year 2010. Submit your receipts and claims for reimbursement to PayFlex at https://texas.payflex.com/mypayflex/. To be eligible for reimbursement from your plan year 2010 account, expenses must be incurred by November 15, 2010. You have until December 31, 2010 to submit claims for expenses incurred through November 15, 2010.
New HealthSelect and Scott & White ID Cards On the Way
All participants will be issued new identification cards at the end of August for their HealthSelect medical and Caremark prescription coverage, and Scott & White medical coverage. The cards will be mailed to the mailing address on file with Employees Retirement System (ERS). Please verify ERS has your correct mailing address by logging into ERS OnLine at www.ers.state.tx.us before Tuesday, August 17 to ensure your card is mailed to your correct location. Note: changing your address in the ACC system DOES NOT change your address with ERS.

TRS/ORP AND YOUR RETIREMENT
A discussion will be held regarding how your Teacher Retirement System or Optional Retirement Plan benefits translate into income during retirement. Prior credits from previous employment may be offset and therefore, it’s imperative to understand how your retirement plan savings work for you when you are ready to retire. A snack tray and door prizes will be available.

Lighthouse – (Faculty Information Utility)
ACC, along with all other public colleges and universities, is required to comply with HB 2504 mandates beginning in Fall 2010. Among other things, the bill requires that the websites of such institutions provide the following information for every course:
1. Course Syllabus, and
2. Curriculum Vitae (CV) for each instructor, including education, professional experience, and significant publications
This information must be accessible no more than three clicks from the ACC homepage and available no later than the seventh day after the first day of classes.
FOR ASSISTANCE – A website has been developed for Lighthouse. This website will assist you in meeting the requirements. You will find tutorials, links to the live application, and a link to the full bill at http://www.austincc.edu/ITdocs/lighthouse/.
