ACC wants to know your ideas to improve student learning. The Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Accountability is now conducting a survey that will be used to create a Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP). The survey is available online through Oct. 31.
“QEP gives us the opportunity to really focus on ways to directly impact how we support our students,” said Soon Merz, associate vice president for effectiveness and accountability. “Someone out there has a great idea that will become the official QEP, and the college will get behind it for years to come.”
Faculty, students, staff, and community members are invited to complete the 5-question survey on the topic of student learning. All responses will be considered in the development of the college’s QEP initiative, to be announced in April. When you complete the survey, you will be automatically entered into a drawing for prizes, including a complimentary massage, free ACC Continuing Education classes,
and the grand prize being an Apple iPad .
So what’s your QEP? Take the survey here. Deadline for submissions is midnight, October 31.
The QEP is a requirement of ACC’s accrediting organization, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, and a part of the college’s Student Success Initiative.

Offer a four year degree program to students who need a four year degree without the price tag of other more expensive institutions.
More Advanced Degree, Less money.

Expand the programs we already have. There is only two Environmental Science programs. So expand the programs that are already in place and expand in those that haven’t even yet to even begun to expand.

1. Bring down the cost of food, improve accessibility, and accommodations.
I like to have a chicken soft taco 2.00, a banana .60, a chocolate protein bar 2.50, water and a Monster coffee ginseng drink 2.50 for lunch. After tax this comes out to be over $8.00. If I have an apple instead of a banana it is over 9.00. I am trying to bring my lunch instead but I hate keeping sweet stuff around the house (like the coffee drink and chocolate protein bar) but really can enjoy just 1 a day at school while I am studying. Can we get a not-for-profit vending machine with these items and a toaster oven in the break rooms? (I am at SAC right now.)
2. Expand online math classes.
I need to take a lot of math and am doing much better with the online format.
3. Keep up the good work with the learning lab! It is the best resource I could have asked for.
Thank you,
Autumn
