Starting this fall, the Austin Community College District will waive parking permit fees for disabled veterans. Veterans who provide documentation of current “disabled veteran” vehicle registration may receive one vehicle parking permit as well as one motorcycle permit annually. The exemption does not apply for two vehicle permits or two motorcycle permits.
Disabled veterans who have already purchased a parking tag for 2010-11 academic year should complete a parking permit fee refund request form. Please return the form and documentation from the VA to a campus cashier’s office.

Out-standing ACC! If they asked you, “What have you done for your soldiers today?” Answer, I gave them a free parking permit. And, told them thank you for keeping me and my family save.

Is this for only 100% disabled or for any level (percentage) of disability?

To answer the question of Disability Percentage. In order to qualify for a Disabled Veteran’s License Plate they must have a Disability Rating of 60% or higher. I have mine and am at 80%. Pedro THANK YOU for your comment. For everyone, Please never look at a veteran that has disabled plates and does not look like they are not. I wake everyday in pain and struggle through that after serving 21 years.

Thank you for your question. Texas vehicle registration law provides that military veterans are eligible to receive “disabled veteran†license plates if they have a least 50% service-related disability (or at least 40% if related to loss of a lower limb). This ACC policy exempts only disabled military veterans who qualify for “disabled veteran†license plates.
