ACC Hosts Program for Students Interested in International Business

ACC is giving students an opportunity to learn more about international business – a key field in Texas, which leads the nation in export revenue. This fall, the Business Studies Department will host Export Fellows, a free, four-week course that results in a certificate from the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Students must apply to join the program; priority is given to Business Studies majors. Applications are due by Tuesday, October 19.

Export Fellows meets weekly from November 4 to December 2. Students will hear presentations by local international business experts and work in teams to put together a study on a green product or service exported to a foreign market.

“This is an excellent way for students to become more marketable to employers,” says Charles Quinn, dean of Business Studies. “Virtually all companies have a global connection – whether they export goods and services or compete with international businesses. Workers who can give their companies an edge in the worldwide marketplace are in demand.”
