ACC faculty, staff, and students are invited to Student Life’s largest volunteer event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, November 6.
The ninth annual Project: Build a Park will take place at the Barton Creek Greenbelt near Barton Springs. ACC friends and family members are encouraged to participate. Online registration is available.
“Every year this event just gets better and better. It’s great to see the entire ACC community—students, clubs, staff—coming together to give back to Austin. Everyone always has a good time,” says Student Life Director Cheryl Richard.
New this year: ACC groups and classes with the largest volunteer participation will receive Visa gift cards provided by A+ Federal Credit Union. Groups and classes must register before Oct. 31 to be eligible.
Of course, it wouldn’t be an Austin event without live music, so after a few hours on the trail, there will be a band, lunch, and prizes. Exclusive passes to Student Life’s Movie Night for “Harry Potter” will also be given out to student volunteers while supplies last.

I have a group of adult ed. students who would like to take part. They will be about 30 or so in number. We have done this annually for many years, and would like to continue the tradition. Please reply.;

Wonderful! We’d love to have you all–and you might even win a Visa gift card and other cool stuff. Should be a great time. Just remember to register by Oct. 31 with your class name to be eligible for the gift card. See you there! Oh–and bring all your friends and family, they’re invited, too 😉

I volunteered last year and I was really impressed with the big volunteer turnout and how much fun it was. My friends in the Renewable Energy Student Association invited me again this year. To my surprise a lot of students in my classes don’t know about this event, but now they do – I’m telling everyone in all my classes about it!

That’s great, Eric! Glad you had a fun time and are getting the word out to your classes. See you Saturday!
