Live demonstrations, information booths, and presentations from mental health and wellness experts are just some of the offerings on tap at the Mental Health and Wellness Fair hosted by Austin Community College.
The event will be 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, in the Eastview Campus Courtyard.
More than 33 government and community groups will join ACC representatives offering information on healthy eating, alcohol and substance abuse, chronic illnesses, veterans’ needs, mental health services, and more.
Live demonstrations include chair massages, acupressure, and fitness for fun. Visitors also can get free screenings for blood pressure, diabetes, pregnancy, and the spine.
“This is our biggest community health outreach event of the year,” says Dorado Kinney, Eastview Campus dean of student services. “It is important that everyone gain a better understanding of their overall health.”
The fair is part of a weeklong schedule of mental health and wellness events. Download the schedule brochure (PDF) for a list of all activities.
