ACC recently hosted the two finalists for the position of college president/CEO. Dr. Katherine Persson and Dr. Richard Rhodes participated in a variety of forums; follow the links below for videos showing each candidate. The Board of Trustees is expected to select the new president in May.

With certain cuts and proposed cuts to student aid, what plans might the candidates propose at the local level to counteract this lapse in judgement at the federal level?
Does the school have the ability to garner support from the community over the long term?
The school itself may be fine but the point of ACC, in my view, is to accommodate the needs of people with deficient resources. First duty is to the people who would come here in any economy and then to the quality conscious frugal student.
I have no doubt that these cuts will simply push more people toward community colleges as a means to save money.
Can we take this new population and serve the original population concurrently?
Does this just turn into yet another growth model for ACC (Which I’m cool with)?
If so what happens down the road when demand backs off again? DO some campuses become uber high schools or some other re-purpose?
Is there room in the middle to shift some resources to student aid and make sure no one gets left behind by the momentum of this growth?
How can the education community fight back against current trends to cut funding and truncate/retard curriculum?
