Performance Excellence Program (PEP)
The Performance Excellence Program (PEP) begins with the setting of goals by the employee and supervisor. The end of April starts the Upward Evaluation program and the Annual Employee Performance Review takes place in May/June. The Upward Evaluation Program encourages employees to provide feedback on the performance of the immediate supervisor

Upward Evaluation
Employees will receive an email the last week of April with instructions on how to participate in the Upward Evaluation process. Employees will be able to evaluate their supervisors until Friday, May 6th. Results from upward evaluations are sent to the next level supervisor and are not shown to your immediate supervisors. The next level supervisor uses your information to create their final performance review, which includes information from a variety of sources. For information: http://www.austincc.edu/hr/eval/upward_eval.php.

Employee Performance Review
Employees will meet with their supervisors to conduct the online annual employee performance review in May and June after the upward evaluation process is complete.
If you have questions about the upward evaluation or employee performance review processes, please visit the Faculty and Staff Evaluation website at http://www.austincc.edu/hr/eval/staff.php or view a short video here or contact Whitney Feil, Evaluation Specialist, at [email protected] or 223-7984.

Benefits

ERS Dependent Audit
ERS works hard to make sure that only individuals who are eligible for benefits receive them. As part of this ongoing effort, ERS will conduct a 100% dependent verification audit through August 2011. ERS is working with an independent company, Aon Hewitt, to conduct the audit. The audit will require each employee and retiree who covers a dependent in the Texas Employees Group Benefits Program (GBP) to provide copies of documents to prove the dependent is eligible. Aon Hewitt will conduct the audit in three phases. Higher education employees will be audited in the first phase, which starts this month.

If you cover a dependent in the insurance program, you will receive a letter from Aon Hewitt asking you to provide the appropriate documents. If you have an email address on file with ERS, you will also receive a reminder email. The email will come from [email protected]. Please do not email or respond to the reminder emails from [email protected].

Please don’t forget to send copies of your documents when you receive the letter from Aon Hewitt. Do not send originals; they will not be returned. If you have questions about the audit, please call the phone number provided in the letter. Benefit is unable to assist you because we don’t have access to their records. If you don’t send the necessary documents for the audit, your dependents will be dropped from coverage. To prepare for the audit, ERS reminded employees and retirees to drop ineligible dependents during last summer’s Annual Enrollment. For additional information, please visit www.ers.state.tx.us or call ERS at 512.867.7711.

Financial Wellness Fair
The Austin Community College Financial Wellness Fair will be Wednesday, April 27 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the EVC Multipurpose Room. Reserve your seat by April 15 at https://www3.austincc.edu/it/workshops/www/login.php. Contact Alisol Martinez at 223-7800 or [email protected] if you have questions.

Information Security Notice
Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts Susan Combs reported today that a number of confidential records were inadvertently made available on one of the agency’s data servers. ERS is required by state law to provide certain member information to the CPA on an annual basis. These records include information on current and former state employees and retirees. The press release states that there is no indication that the personal information was misused. The comptroller’s office has set up a website with more information at www.TXsafeguard.org. Concerned individuals may also call 855-474-2065 beginning April 12. The comptroller’s office is sending a notification to everyone whose records were affected.
