Faculty Coaches to Present Success-Driven Strategies

The Student Success Initiative is hosting a Faculty Coaches Showcase on Friday, May 6, at the Highland Business Center, Room 201. Everyone is invited to attend.

The event is scheduled for 1 to 4 p.m. It will feature a short program, followed by a mix of poster sessions and presentations by faculty coaches. There also will be opportunities for attendees to speak one-on-one with the coaches or their representatives.

The faculty coach program is a key part of the Student Success Initiative. The program began in the fall 2009 with 19 faculty coaches and has grown to include 35 faculty representing 39 instructional areas.

Elected by their peers, faculty coaches facilitate efforts within their instructional area to increase the depth and use of student data that help identify the needs of students and possible ways to address those needs.

The Faculty Coach Showcase will highlight departmental data on student success, ways in which the use and analysis of data are affecting practice both in the classroom and through services for students, and creative solutions to instructional challenges.

People can register to attend the showcase at the Professional Development website at https://www3.austincc.edu/it/workshops/www/login.php to receive one hour of professional development credit. Refreshments will be available.
