Austin Community College District will discontinue telephone registration effective September 22, 2011, as the college fully converts to the online registration system.
Good news! Registering online for classes at ACC is simple and comes loaded with benefits:
â—Â Â Â Â Â Online registration is more secure and requires less personal information.
â—Â Â Â Â Â Online registration encourages online tuition payment, which is also more secure.
â—Â Â Â Â Â Online registration is faster than and as accurate as other registration methods.
â—Â Â Â Â Â Online registration allows students to use ACC’s new waitlist feature, giving you a better opportunity for a seat in popular classes.
For more information and instructions on how to register online, visit austincc.edu/register or pick up a copy of the Registration & Success Guide found on any ACC campus.

That is a shame, I found the telephone resgistration mamy times more user friendly than online…

I found online registration to be impossible to use and was fall-down grateful for telephone registration as an alternative.

Shame — I find the Telephone Registration easier.

I have to agree with everyone else, I found telephone registration much easier to use. It’s a shame it’s going away.

Well it’s already 2011 and you should probably get used to using computers… in fact there’s a computer in the phone you used to use for registration… crazy huh?!

I too prefer the phone registration, refuse to put personal financial info on the web. Back to in-person….

Me too. Phone registration was so much earier. The online system isn’t very user friendly [even though I’ve used it multiple semesters now] and takes a LOT longer. 🙁

Dave: You rock.
If you can’t use the online registration, you are going to have serious trouble in college. Please learn some basics of computing: how to email yourself an attachment, how to use BlackBoard, how to fill out your financial aid, how to format a document. There are people around that can help you – including other students! Ask for help – but LEARN! That is the whole idea of education – right? Some of it is learning how to use the tools at hand.

Change is difficult when you are comfortable doing something one way. Yes, learning is about adding new experiences to our lives. Yes, a student can get help and try to adjust to the new system.
However, there is valuable feedback here to remember: the online system must be designed to meet all student needs.
Students: give your feedback to the people running online registration so improvements can be made.
Yes, there is room for improvement of quality and ease of use of ACC online!!!

Robyn,
How does online registration put personal financial information on the web? Unless you pay online, the only financial thing used during the online process the amount of tuition due.
Everyone else,
It’s going to be very difficult to get through college if you can’t master the online registration. Go to a counselor to register and have them walk you through it. It’s 2011, many classes will have items you must complete using a computer. Very few jobs are computer-free, now is the time to learn.

I didn’t realize the phone registration still worked! For those of you that have trouble with the online registration, just make sure you gather your synonyms beforehand and use the Express Register menu.
