Latest SSI Data to be Presented at Faculty Coaches Event

Student performance data collected through ACC’s Student Success Initiative (SSI) will be presented at the third annual SSI Data Retreat on Friday, September 30.

The event, “Faculty Leadership, Student Voices, and High Impact Practices,” will give faculty coaches, department chairs, and deans an opportunity to review the latest SSI data and discuss teaching strategies designed to enhance the success of students in all disciplines.

Following opening remarks by ACC President Dr. Richard Rhodes, faculty members Dr. Shirin Khosropour, professor of Psychology, and Dr. Sam Echevarria-Cruz, associate professor of Sociology, will share best practices for engaging students to promote retention. Faculty coaches will then meet with their department chairs and deans to discuss the strategies and interventions that have been implemented since the SSI program began in the fall of 2009.

The Data Retreat is an opportunity for SSI faculty coaches to examine ACC’s progress toward meeting SSI objectives. Elected by their peers, faculty coaches use SSI data to better identify and serve students’ needs. More than 45 faculty coaches representing nine instructional departments now participate in the program.

The retreat will be from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in HBC Room 201. For more information, contact Millie Milagros, [email protected], or Terry Mouchayleh, [email protected].
