ACC students will have an opportunity to connect with Central Texas employers through career fairs sponsored by the Hospitality Management Programs (November 28) and the Vocational Nursing Department (November 30).

The departments of Hospitality, Culinary Arts, Meeting and Event Planning, and Travel and Tourism will hold their fair 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, November 28 in the Multipurpose Hall (Room 8500) at Eastview Campus, 3401 Webberville Rd. Industry leaders will speak to students and conduct actual interviews as well as mock interview scenarios. The Austin Hotel and Lodging Association is hosting the event in conjunction with the college’s  Hospitality Management Programs.

“This career fair is a win-win. Students will have the chance to meet with key employers, and those employers are recruiting qualified students who are passionate about this industry,” says Michelle Costanzo, department chair for Hospitality Management. “The fact that employers are coming to us speaks to the quality of our hospitality programs and our students.”

The vocational nursing career fair is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 30, also in the Multipurpose Hall (Room 8500) at Eastview Campus. Graduating vocational nursing students will learn about employment with long-term care facilities, assisted-living facilities, community clinics, and doctors’ offices. More than a dozen employers from across the area will participate.

“Students will be able to evaluate a variety of potential vocational nursing positions and develop skills for the application and interview processes,” says Nina Almasy, professor in the Vocational Nursing Department. “We’ve held this fair twice a year for the past five years, and it’s immensely successful. We hear over and over how impressed employers are with our graduates.”
