you need to make this into an app I keep getting a banner that reads: cannot access page. enough to make me forget the whole thing.

Sorry you are having trouble with the mobile site – be sure and check your Internet connection. Apps for iPhone and Android are certainly planned for the future, but we felt that a mobile web site accessible to multiple platforms was a quick and prudent first step in serving our mobile audience.

This is a great start! Is there a mobile design of Online Services in the works?
For all the faculty and students out there, I recommend the Blackboard Learn app for Android and iOS. I’ve only used the Android version. It isn’t perfect, but it supports most features of the full website, including viewing documents, course announcements, and grades. I do not know if instructors can update grades from the app, but that would be pretty useful if an instructor could let us know.

The Blackboard app only works on iOS…unless you have Sprint. If you have Sprint it will work on Andriod due to licensing agreements between Sprint and Blackboard. I have and Andriod (AT&T) and everytime I try to use it, it says that ACC has not licensed Blackboard Mobile Learn app.

Sorry to hear that, Kelly. I’m not often glad to be a Sprint customer.
A few other useful apps:
LibraryAnywhere, which will allow you to search the library catalog
EBSCOHost, which will allow you to search, download, and share journal articles
Wolfram|Alpha, which allows you to compute mathematical equations or look up many statistics curated by Wolfram. (Not free, but cheap)
Amazon Kindle – You don’t have to have a Kindle to read Kindle books. I’ve found some books required for classes (though usually not textbooks) that were cheaper on Amazon than through NOOKStudy. This is especially useful since there is a Kindle app for Google Chrome on the desktop as well.
I bet cancelling the college’s collegiatelink.net subscription and using the built in Blackboard Organizations feature to manage Clubs and Orgs would free up enough funds to pay the mobile license fee. Not that these things are under the same budget.

I like the site. It threw me off before when I didn’t know that it was a mobile site. But now I like it. It’s quicker and more convenient than waiting forever for a full page to load or pulling out my laptop. I would love to see an app too! That would rock even more! Thanks 🙂
