Installation of underground site utilities is well under way. All piers have been drilled and poured. The structural concrete has been poured for the area ways and elevator pit. The crawlspace mud slab will be poured the first week of March. Meanwhile, the submittal review process is ongoing.

Great news, glad to hear the water issue is resolved!
Is there any update on where the bricks used in the construction will come from?
I also have a small concern about the amount of debris (mud and small rocks) the large construction vehicles are leaving on HWY 290 as they enter and exit the site.
Thank you.

The bricks will be local.
Regarding the roadway shoulder, Skanska’s project manager reports: “We are maintaining traffic leaving the site on the shoulder and sweeping the shoulder twice a day. We will continue to monitor and make any corrections needed as they become evident.†He says he will remind work teams to be extra cautious especially with wet weather conditions.

So looking forward to this campus. I’ve been in the Elgin Community for the last 10 years. My personal opinion is that this is one of the most positive action for the future growth of Elgin. I smile every time I pass it. Much need and many applause to Elgin.
