Austin Community College’s Photographic Technology Department is featured in the April/May edition of Texas Professional Photographer magazine.

The article highlights ACC’s longstanding relationship with the Texas Professional Photographers Association (TPPA). As part of the program, ACC photography students join the association, attend the TPPA summer seminar, and enter the TPPA’s print competition.

The magazine’s cover photo was taken by ACC photography student May Lau. Lau took the picture for a class last semester and won “Best Overall Image by a Student” at the 2011 TPPA summer seminar.

“We train our students to become professional photographers, so it’s rewarding to be recognized as a quality institution by other professionals,” said Bill Woodhull, department chair.
