ACC Students Invited to Apply for Intel Summer Engineering Program

Calling all students with an interest in engineering – ACC is partnering with Intel on a six-week summer engineering program that includes a stipend and opportunities for scholarships.

Applications will be accepted online through Friday, April 20. The program runs June 18 through July 27 at Austin’s Hilton Garden Hotel. Students must be enrolled in a pre-engineering, engineering technology, science, math, or technology degree program.

Participating students will build a robot, develop an app, and act like entrepreneurs to create and develop solutions that improve people’s lives. Each participant will receive a $1,000 stipend to help with meals and transportation, and those who complete the program with good attendance will earn scholarships up to $2,000.

The Austin session of the Intel Ultimate Engineering Experience is one of six programs across the country this summer. The initiative is part of Intel’s efforts to engage students in engineering-related fields, provide them real-world experience, and motivate them to complete their studies.

“This is an excellent opportunity for ACC engineering and science students to interact with and learn from field engineers who actually do the work these students are studying to do,” says Dr. Saad Eways, professor of engineering. “Our students can benefit so much from this program.”
