ACC International Programs is searching for a host family for the 2012-13 school year for a German student participating in the Congress-Bundestand Youth Exchange for Young Professionals (CBYX).
CBYX has been connecting German students with American host families for more than 28 years. ACC has participated in the program for 12 years. The host family will receive a modest monthly stipend.
“A host family will have the opportunity to develop a close relationship with a person from another country, learn about that country, and help the participant learn about life in the U.S.,” says William Hayden, coordinator of International Programs.
For more information about being a host family, contact Hayden at 223.7689 or [email protected]. To learn more about the CBYX program, visit austincc.edu/intstudy/exchange.

I was wondering what would be involved in being a host family and have you found someone already?
Thank you!

Hello Tanja,
We have not yet found a host family. A CBYX host family provides room and board as well as a surrogate family support for the participant for the 2012-2013 academic year (August to June). A host family receives a modest stipend of $225/month. If you would like more information, please call 512.223.7689 or email [email protected].
Thank you.
William
